Project Description:

The proposed design was fundamentally based on a clearly defined program of spaces, functions, and departmental zones, considering the social, behavioral, and climatic aspects of the population served by the proposed hospital, where Arab-Muslim customs and habits are predominant.

 

100-Bed General Surgery Hospital of Diyala

Location: Diyala, Iraq                                 

Area: 7,500 m2

Scope of Work: Concept Design

Project Description:

The hospital includes the following functions:

- In-patient care

- Diagnosis and treatment

- Supply

- Supporting facilities

- Administration

- Works services

- Subsidiary functions

- Staff facilities

- Staff accommodation

In the design, there will be no definitive allocation of in-patient nursing areas to specific medical specialties. This approach aims to avoid creating artificial barriers between departments and functions, while also allowing for greater flexibility.

300-Bed Radiation Atomic Hospital

Location: Baghdad, Iraq

Project Description:

The hospital is designed to operate independently, offering high-quality care to individuals in need of medical and surgical services tailored to their specific requirements. This care is provided for inpatients, day patients, and outpatients. The facility includes outpatient and general medical clinics, as well as specialized diagnostic clinics that cover a wide range of medical and surgical specialties.

We provide comprehensive medical and nursing care, along with treatment and accommodation for patients requiring medical or surgical intervention.

135-Bed AlKafeel Specialized Hospital

Location: Karbala, Iraq

Scope of Work: Medical Equipment Supply as a Turn-Key Project

Project Description:

Turnkey project for the following departments: 

  • All fixed equipment in operating theaters and critical care facilities, including pendant systems, surgical lights, and surgical tables.
  • Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) and Theaters Sterilization Unit (TSU).
  • Supply of Critical Care Devices.
35-Bed Halabja Chemical Disease Hospital

Location: Halabja, Iraq                          

Area: 7,000 m2

Project Description:

The design has identified several architectural features and is intended to serve as a landmark building in the city of Halabja. A monumental curved stone wall is featured at the main elevation of the project, creating a welcoming effect alongside a landscaped plaza at the main entrance.

A topographic survey reveals that the site has a variation in elevation of up to five meters. The concept design takes these site characteristics into account and appropriately allocates the building's functions accordingly.

Site Work:

The site features roads, pedestrian paths, and walkways. Roads and parking areas consist of interlocking concrete units laid on sand and compacted soil. Sidewalks are made of concrete pavements on sand with curb stones.

Hospital and Rehabilitation Buildings:

The project consists of two buildings: a hospital and a rehabilitation center.

Burn and Plastic Hospital

The first of its kind, a specialized burn and plastic surgery hospital in the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

Project Description:

The project was divided into three stages: the study and analysis stage, the preliminary design stage, and the detailed design stage.

First Stage - Study and Analysis Stage:

The design team developed the functional space program in accordance with the latest healthcare planning standards, along with a comprehensive study of site considerations and design limitations for the project.

Second Stage - Preliminary Design Stage:

In the preliminary design phase, a 3D image and space layout were prepared to implement the design's functionality and safety requirements, serving the final form of the project.

Third Stage - Detailed Design Stage:

Complete architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, in addition to layouts for medical equipment and furniture, were prepared.

20-Bed FMC Satellite Clinics

Location: Sulaymaniyah, Iraq

Scope of Work: Concept Design

Project Description:

The design of the prototype clinic for the Farouk Medical Center in Sulaymaniyah includes facilities for emergency care, outpatient services, and diagnostic surgery, featuring 20 patient beds. The design team has prepared a space program along with conceptual floor plan drawings, presenting two design options for the project.

210-Bed Farouk Medical City (FMC)

Project Description:

The project involves the design and detailed planning of the surgical core for a 150-bed hospital. This includes 12 modular operating theaters and sterilization facilities (TSU-CSSD) along with various supporting functions. The FMC Hospital also features 41 specialized outpatient clinics, complemented by advanced medical and engineering facilities.

Pediatric and maternity health care services are essential facilities that Iraq urgently needs. Providing these services effectively requires proper, rational, and systematic methodologies for planning, design, and construction. The complexity of these facilities and hospitals presents a significant challenge.

This study aims to develop an adequate design solution suitable for Iraq, particularly considering that seven hospitals of this type will be built, one in each governorate.

In this project, we were tasked with proposing a development plan and outlining operational policies for a general hospital serving a catchment area of 400,000 residents.

The concepts focus on creating functional, flexible, and expandable design features. Given that the hospital will be built in Iraq, it should embody a modern design reflective of the 21st century, especially considering the country’s historical shortage of such facilities. Additionally, the design should incorporate local elements of Iraqi-Baghdadi architecture.

The Iraqi Center for Heart Disease will serve as a referral hub for cardiac patients in Baghdad and across the nation. As a leading facility for cardiac care, the center's primary objective is to provide comprehensive and specialized diagnostic and treatment options for both in-patient and out-patient cardiac patients.

Project Description:

This center will provide both general and specialized diagnostic and treatment services for inpatients and outpatients. It will adhere to the available standards for planning and designing endocrine gland and diabetes centers or institutes. The facility will have 200 beds specifically dedicated to diabetes care and will be designed to reflect 21st-century architecture, building system technology, and engineering services.
